My Sweet Henry

This morning I went into the living room to find that Henry had a poo accident on the carpet. When I looked around, he was a couple of feet away, laying on the carpet panting. I went to get some things to clean up the mess, and he tried to drag himself across the carpet with his one front leg. He could not stand. My husband had me call the vet, and we took him in right away. The vet said he was hypothermic (very low body temp) and that she felt a mass in his abdomen. With his history she said she felt that it was a tumor from the sarcoma, and that it had burst and he was now bleeding internally. She said he was not a good candidate for surgery, and that she would have to remove most of his intestines if we wanted to try it. We did the only thing we could and let him have some peace. I just keep thinking about how great he has been doing these past two months. He was fine last night, and now he is gone. I was so unprepared for this outcome. It honestly never crossed my mind that the cancer would come back and take him. For our family, it is truly Black Friday.

I thank you all for the support you gave us both, and my thoughts are still with all of you who still have fighting left to do.

I cannot believe this! I am jist shocked.

I am sovery, very, very sorry. This nasty, hateful disease is the most disgusting piece of garbage and we all hate it so.

But it couldn’t touch that lovely bright vibrant spirit of Henry! Could not diiminish his charm whatsover! He had the most loving, joyful life anyone could ever i agine. His recovery was quick and he was able to thoroughly enjoy all the loving and spoilng…and yes, even the icing he stole off the counter…! He packed a lot of living, a lotof fun i to his all too short life.

You did everything possible for Henry. And you gave him the ulti ate gift of love vy ot puttng him through anymore with almost a zero chance of any quality His passing was sudden, but, from his perspective, he was blissfuly happy right up to the very last.

I’m just so very sorry. We grieve with you. We got to know Henry Blue Eyes…and you. We celebrated every single victory with you and we all cry now. But we know Henry’s memories will soon start to rng a smile to your heart and glue the broken pieces back together. He would not want you to hurt.

He would want you to think of his sweet face with frosting on it and smile.

We are still here withnyou. We are still your family. Henry’s life matters to us! He will never be forgotten here…that sweet handso e boy…will never be forfotten.

Please come back and share more photos and loving memories of Henty when you can.

And in the middle of your grief, you still think of others and wish everyone well. You are an incredible soul. Just as privilege d as you are to have He ry in your life, he’s just as privileged to have you in his.

Holding you gently in our hearts tonight.

I’m sorry to hear about Henry – losing a family member is always incredibly difficult, and even more so when he was getting through and fighting his ailments so bravely. But, you gave him a happy life, a loving home, and wonderful memories – and I’m sure that he helped give the same to you. That’s the definition of a wonderful life, and you gave that to him.

    Stay strong,
